Parade I-II

In her depiction of everyday mental and physical brutality, Parastou Forouhar creates images that have an aesthetic appeal but are also disturbing ambiguous. References to the tradition of  Persian miniatures are forever present and are fused by computer techniques into a complex imagery of both modern and traditional meaning.  Her prints create images within a labyrinth of images, figures dissolved in the entanglement of ornamentation, prisons lost in the infinite spaces of geometry.
